Job Summary:
The Commercial and Agricultural (Ag) Lender will be responsible for growing and managing an existing portfolio of commercial and agricultural loans. This role requires a seasoned professional with strong credit skills, proven experience in commercial and ag lending or credit, and a talent for business development. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the local market and be able to build strong relationships with clients to support their financial needs.

This role will be responsible for:
- Developing, managing, and growing a portfolio of commercial and agricultural loans.
- Evaluating loan applicants, conducting credit analysis, and structuring loan terms that meet the needs of borrowers while adhering to lending policies.
- Preparing and presenting loan proposals to the loan committee for approval.
- Monitoring loan performance and managing loan portfolio risk.
- Participate in community and industry events and organizations.
- Be the face of the organization in the community.
Expectations will include:
- Identifying and cultivating new lending opportunities within the commercial and agricultural sectors.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, providing exceptional customer service and financial advice.
- Participating in community and industry events to enhance visibility and network.
- Collaborating with other departments to cross-sell bank products and services.
- Conducting thorough credit analysis and underwriting of commercial and agricultural loan requests.
- Monitoring economic and market trends to ensure prudent lending practices.
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and bank policies.
A qualified candidate will possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial and agricultural lending or credit.
- Strong credit analysis and underwriting skills.
- Proven business development skills with a track record of building and managing client relationships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Deep understanding of the local market and the unique needs of commercial and agricultural clients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
