What you will be doing:

  • Developing programming code to provide control of automated production equipment.
  • Working with machines such as operator interface displays, feedback devices, electric motor controls and pneumatic and hydraulic devices.
  • Utilizing programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Function Block, C#, Python, and Structured Text.
  • Working with the broader engineering team to develop solutions and solve problems for clients of all shapes and sizes.

A successful candidate for this Controls / Automation Engineer position will possess the following:

  • BS in EE, CS, EET, or AS in AET or other equivalent training and experience.
  • Knowledge of industrial controls and system integration.
  • Ability to generate and debug PLC code (Allen-Bradley or Siemens a plus).
  • Understanding of Motion Applications and the Physics of Motion Control.
  • Knowledge of motion application including Servo, Hydraulic, and VFD.
  • Knowledge of network integration and Ethernet communications.
  • Familiar with PC operating systems.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and health/safety codes.
  • Strong logical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong organizational and technical writing skills.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Able to solve practical software control design problems and interpret technical publications.
  • As required, responsible for the commissioning of lines at the customers facility.

Compensation: Compensation for this position will include a base salary and a discretionary bonus. The base salary range will fall between $60k and $80k annually and bonus will be dependent upon the overall success of the organization.

Desired Location: This is an in the office position and it is expected that someone would live in the Central / South Central Kansas area.
