This role will be responsible for:
- Managing revenue cycle operations, including billing, accounts receivable, coding, and denial management.
- Developing and implementing effective systems for claims submission, payment posting, and collections.
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and organizational standards, as well as funding agency requirements.
- Maintaining configurations for electronic billing systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Leading and mentoring a team of revenue cycle professionals to achieve operational excellence.
- Coordinating the practitioner insurance empanelment process and managing provider insurance plan participation agreements.
Expectations will include:
- Establishing accountability systems to meet industry benchmarks and organizational goals.
- Producing timely management reports and ensuring a smooth month-end close of billing functions.
- Staying updated on regulatory, compliance, and best practices for Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs).
- Managing department budgets effectively and allocating resources to meet organizational needs.
- Supporting internal and external audits and reporting requirements (e.g., HRSA UDS, Medicare, and Medicaid).
A qualified candidate will possess the following:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of healthcare business office experience, preferably in a leadership role.
- Comprehensive understanding of third-party payer systems, including HMO, PPO, Medicare, and Medicaid.
- Proficiency with billing software applications and familiarity with FQHC billing requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify problem areas and implement improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and team management skills.
