VP of Corporate Development

We are searching for an experienced M&A Manager or Director who would be interested in starting a new corporate development team within a very intriguing private equity-backed portfolio company headquartered in Chicago. The position is a combination of sourcing and execution and is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor and grow with the organization as it expands rapidly across the US. What you will be doing:

  • Identifying and building relationships with potential acquisition targets across the US.
  • Conducting detailed financial analysis and valuation of target companies or projects, including building financial models.
  • Participating in the due diligence process, assessing the financial, operational, legal, and strategic aspects of potential deals.
  • Assisting in the execution of deals, including negotiation, drafting agreements, and coordinating with legal and financial advisors. Post-deal, helping integrate the acquired company or assets.
  • Conducting market research and competitive analysis on an ongoing basis to understand industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics.

A successful candidate for this VP of Corporate Development position will possess the following:

  • Three to five years of transaction (M&A) related experience.
  • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field.
  • Strong financial acumen and exceptional communication skills.
  • The willingness to dig in and get your hands dirty in the details.
  • An ability to work at pace, a willingness to travel, and a strong ability to multi-task.

Compensation: Compensation will be commensurate with skills and experience but will include base and deal-based bonus opportunities
